Why I let AI write my blog posts

I’ll be honest: I don’t love the WordPress admin. Writing a post used to mean clicking into the editor, wrangling blocks, fixing formatting, picking a category, setting a featured image, hitting publish — and I’d much rather spend that time building.

So these days I mostly let AI do it. I connected this site to an AI assistant through an MCP server I built (there’s a write-up in Projects), and now I just… talk. “Draft a post about X.” “Tighten that paragraph.” “Publish it.” It writes, formats, and ships straight into WordPress — no clicking around wp-admin.

The honest reason is simple: it saves me a lot of time. The mechanical part — the blocks, the formatting, the publishing dance — is exactly the kind of repetitive work I like to automate away. I stay in flow, describe what I want, give it a read, and it’s live.

That doesn’t mean I switch my brain off. The ideas, the opinions, and the final say are still mine — I read everything before it goes out. AI handles the busywork; I handle the substance.

This post? Written exactly that way. Meta, I know.
